Bhojpur DM ups security
ARA: In a joint order issued by Bhojpur DM Sanjeev Kumar and SP Awakash Kumar on Wednesday, at least 95 magistrates and adequate number of armed police personnel were deputed to ensure a peaceful Chhath Puja in Bhojpur district.
The DM urged the devotees to celebrate Chhath Puja peacefully and keep a close watch on rumour-mongers. “The Ara municipal commissioner and the executive officers of the nagar panchayats have been asked to ensure that there are arrangements for proper barricading, adequate lighting, drinking water, makeshift toilets, changing rooms, watch towers, CCTV cameras and loudspeakers,” he said, adding NDRF teams with life jackets, boats and professional divers would be present at the ghats.

A control room, being directly monitored by ADM Surendra Prasad and DSP (headquarters) J P Karna, has also been set up at the Krishi Bhavan. Besides, the civil surgeon has been directed to depute a medical team with an ambulance at all the ghats of the district.
In view of heavy rush of devotees at Belaur’s Surya Temple, heavy vehicles will not be allowed on Belaur Road from Thursday to Friday afternoon.
