Ships now have extensive kids' facilities, split by age. Parents can even sneak in a romantic dinner alone, by taking advantage of late-night hours in the kids' club. Relax in the spa while Grandma tries her luck at the slot machines. Watch a movie, laugh at a comedy routine, see a live music performance, or just lounge on the deck and gaze at the stars.

The Carnival Fantasy sails out of Mobile, Alabama, on March 24 and returns March 28, 2018. Mobile is a little over 9-hour drive, or air travel may be arranged. For a family of four in an ocean view room, the cost including taxes, fees and port expenses is $2,112.68 with a deposit of $600 and final payment due Jan. 23. The ocean view stateroom has two twin beds that can convert to a king and two bunk beds. There is also a desk and chair, full bath with shower, three closets and a picture window. There’s also 24-hour room service, cozy linens, TV and a personal safe.

Waterworks is Carnivals onboard waterpark. There’s a Twister Waterslide with hundreds of feet of spiraling fun. Drain Pipe ends up with a major swirl and the PowerDrencher is the biggest bucket of splashing water you’ve ever seen.

For the adults, Guy Fieri has built in all the authentic appeal of a roadside burger shack. There’s the Steakhouse Restaurant, Brunch at Sea, Coffee Bar, Chef’s Table, Swirls Yogurt Bar, Pizza Pirate, Lido Restaurant, Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast, and the Cantina for authentic Mexican.

You'll visit the port city of Progreso; there are dozens of tours available from beach lounging to exploring the ancient wonders of Mayan temples and pyramids. Cozumel is chock full of fun activities for the family. Snorkeling, sailing, swimming with dolphins, ATV rides and jeep tours.

There are many choices of staterooms, all the way from an interior room with no window to elaborate suites with balconies and separate bedrooms.
