Stone hurled at AAP MLA Alka Lamba at Bijnor meet
BIJNOR: AAP MLA from Chandni Chowk, Alka Lamba, was injured after unidentified persons threw a stone wrapped in paper at her at a public meeting in Bijnor on Tuesday.
The meeting was organised in Nehtaur area for the AAP candidate contesting civic polls there.
As politicians got off the stage after the meeting, somebody from the crowd threw a stone at Lamba. She was given primary treatment in Bijnor after which she left for Delhi.
No police case was filed.

Speaking to TOI, Lamba said, “It was at around 9.45pm that I spoke at the public meeting in Nehtaur. Soon after I stepped down from the podium, I was hit by something hard in the head. Later, we realised it was a stone wrapped in paper but thankfully there was no major injury. Party workers immediately escorted me to the car and I left for Delhi. There was a slight swelling. I’m fine.” “This attack shows the frustration of opposition parties. I will continue to visit UP to campaign,” she said. “Sadly, there was no police arrangement for our security,” Lamba said.

Nehtaur station house officer Chandra Kiran, however, said police had provided security cover for the public meeting. ASP Dinesh Kumar said, “No complaint has been filed in this regard at Nehtaur police station. However, police are probing the incident.”
Addressing a press conference later, AAP spokesperson Dilip Pandey said, “We had permission from the district administration for our meeting.
But even then there was no police security. Law and order has worsened in the state. This attack proves it. A complaint will be filed against the persons who threw the stone at our MLA.”
