Judge once again denies Bob Ward’s out-of-state travel request
Despite obtaining a GPS monitoring device that would have allowed authorities to track his movements, a judge has once again denied accused murderer Bob Ward’s request to attend his daughter’s wedding in Georgia.
Ward was denied a request Tuesday to travel to his daughter’s out-of-state wedding. The judge told Ward's attorneys that she'd be willing to reconsider if they came up with a way to monitor Ward's whereabouts.
Ward then obtained a GPS device from Florida GPS monitoring, but the judge again denied the request, saying “The court has not officially approved private GPS vendors, and therefore, the motion to modify conditions of bond remains denied.”
Ward was convicted in 2011 of murdering his wife in their Isleworth mansion.
The conviction was overturned in February of 2016 after he won an argument with the Court of Appeals that his original defense team did not adequately represent him and the case should be re-tried.
His new trial is expected to begin in February.
