Whatsapp goes down for half hour, twitterati react in hilarious manner

People were unable to send or receive messages using Facebook-owned app, reason being cited was server problem.

The importance communication and staying connected in our daily lives was once again highlighted when messaging service Whatsapp was hit by a major outage, stopping millions of people from using it around the world.

People were being unable to send or receive messages using the Facebook-owned app on Friday afternoon, the reason for which is being said was a server problem. The service has since then been restored

The app didn't initially look broken, with chats and contacts able to load. But once a user was into a chat, the app just showed a "connecting" message that never resolves itself, and so new messages couldn't be sent or received.

While, it did become a cause of concern for many with users posting their anger, regret on social media, there were many twitter users who found humour in the situation and soon turned the outage into a trending topic with the hashtag #WhatsAppdown.
