Health care to be discussed at Oxnard Business Outlook

Staff reports

OXNARD - Health care will be a key topic of discussion when the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce presents the Oxnard Business Outlook on Thursday.

Health care costs have an impact on every single chamber member, and the more prepared they are for their options, the better they can advocate for reasonable outcomes, the chamber said.

The keynote speaker will be Loren Kaye, president of the California Foundation for Commerce and Education. The foundation is affiliated with the California Chamber of Commerce and serves as a think tank dedicated to preserving and strengthening the California business climate and private enterprise through accurate, impartial and objective research and analysis of public policy issues.

In addition to his address, Kaye will moderate a panel discussion by experts in health care, including:

Darren Lee, president and CEO for St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo.

Kelly Bruno, president and CEO of the National Health Foundation, a community-based nonprofit addressing solutions to the gaps in health care delivery system.

Dale Villani, CEO of Gold Coast Health Plan, which serves Medi-Cal beneficiaries in Ventura County.

Dr. Adam Cavallero, a board-certified internal medicine physician and an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  He leads UCLA Health's Thousand Oaks primary and specialty care medical practice.
