BLONDE MOMENT: Pictures Alyssa sent to her car insurance company have gone viral

Alyssa Stringfellow, 25, decided she wanted to be added to her grandmother’s car insurance policy to save money.

She was asked to take front and side profile photos before the request could be completed.

Sounds simple enough.

Alyssa gathered the information and sent it through along with the pictures of herself to the insurance agent’s email address the same night.

But when she woke up she was horrified to see the response.

PROFILE SHOT: Alyssa wanted to go on her grandmother's car insurance
CHEESE: The 25-year-old was told to send side and front pictures

“Hi Alyssa, I am going to need pictures like you took, except it needs to be of your vehicle,” the agent said.

She also woke up to a text message from her disbelieving grandmother: “Alyssa Racheal, did you send him pictures of YOURSELF?! It was supposed to be of your car!”

Her grandmother had apparently already been filled in on the hilarious error when the agent called her.

VIRAL: The photos have since gone viral with others admitting they would make the same error

“Apparently they laughed about it on the phone for a good five minutes," Alyssa wrote on a Facebook post that has been shared 100,000 times.

The US student added: “Needless to say, I was ridiculously embarrassed and everyone at work had a good laugh at my obvious misinterpretation.”

While she and her mum both thought the request was odd, neither considered the pictures should be of the car, she added.

"But, you know what they say, you either have book smarts or street smarts, and I definitely do not have the latter!”

LOL: The insurance company saw the funny side

The post has been liked thousands of times with people tagging friends they think would make the same mistake.

Alyssa explained: “I decided to add myself to Carolyn’s car and the insurance company rang her with the details I needed and their email address.

“This included my driver’s license number, my date of birth, and a picture straight on and a picture taken from each side.

“I emailed the information along with the pictures that night but I woke up to them asking for the same photos but for the car.

“He’d told my grandma on the phone that he and his entire office were in hysterics at my obvious misunderstanding.

“It was such a blonde moment but it has given so many people a laugh that I don’t care anymore.”
