NDA Montessori children depict Bihar, its glory

PATNA: Dressed as flowers, princesses and monks, Montessori children of Notre Dame Academy (NDA) took the audience on an exciting journey to experience the beauty of Bihar and its festivals at the annual ‘Montessori Concert’ on their campus on Saturday. The concert was themed ‘Bihar in its splendour’.
Purnia SP Nishant Tiwary as the chief guest inaugurated the function at which provincial superior (NDA) Sr Mary Tessy was the guest of honour.

The tiny tots also performed a prayer dance, ‘Aradhana’, which was followed by dance dramas, ‘Beauty of Vaishali’ and ‘The Royal Bihar’. They showcased the periods of Ashoka, Chanakya, Guru Gobind Singh and Gautam Buddha.
A musical skit on ‘Festivity and Celebration’ highlighted the festivals like Chhath, Jitiya and Buddh Purnima.
As the kids performed to underline the importance of ‘Sawan’ (rainy season) in the state, the auditorium reverberated with songs like ‘Aaya sawan jhoom ke’ and ‘Sawan ka mahina’. Aditi, Abhik Ayushman, Aradhya, Ayansh and Sarthak, all Montessori students, shared their views on Sawan and festivals.
The children even highlighted the pollution in the Ganga in ‘Life of Bihar’ and presented dance on songs like ‘Namami Gange’.

A fashion show, titled ‘Beauties of Bihar’, highlighting the speciality of different districts marked the conclusion of the concert.
Montessori wing headmistress Sr Namrata gave the vote of thanks. School principal Sr Mary Jesy, primary wing headmistress Sr Merry Karuna and all the school’s teachers were also present.
DPS: Delhi Public School (DPS) students emerged as the winner of a spelling contest at the 7th Interschool Spelling Bee and Carrom competition organised by St Karen’s Secondary School (SKSS) on its campus on Saturday. St Karen’s High School (SKHS) and Gyan Niketan won the second and third prizes respectively.
While Don Bosco Academy (DBA) won the carrom contest in the boys’ category, St Karen’s High School (SKHS) excelled in the girls’ category.
Former head of department of teacher education (SCERT), S A Moin gave away the prizes to the winners.
SKSS principal K K Kunjachan and teachers were also present on the occasion.
IIPS: Ravi Roshan Tuddu and Nikhil Singh Rathore of Ishan International Public School (IIPS) bagged medals in the IZSKF Open National Karate Championship organized by India Zen Do Shin Karate Federation (IZSKF) in Muzaffarpur on November 9.
Nikhil won the gold medal whereas Ravi grabbed the silver medal in the white belt category.
School principal Amarawati Singh congratulated both the students on their success and wished them luck.
DBA: St Dominic Savio’s High School, R P S School, Ishan International School, Litera Valley and Loyola High School made it to the semi-finals of the 4th Interschool Football Fest organised by the Danapur branch of The All-India Anglo-Indian Association on Saturday.
CUSB: School of Law and Governance observed National Legal Awareness Day on of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) campus on Saturday. A seminar on ‘Accessibility of Socio-Legal Aid for Undertrial Prisoners’ was organised in association with Tata Institute of Social Sciences-Mumbai and Human Rights Law Network-Patna on the occasion.
National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights’ legal coordinator advocate Savita Ali, who attended the seminar, talked about the atrocities on dalits in prisons. Praveen Kumar from TISS told the students about the condition of prisons in Maharashtra.
CUSB political science professor Pranav Kumar put emphasis on how prisoners can lead a normal life.
The students also performed a street play on the occasion.
