VIJAYAWADA: In a tragic incident, a twenty-three day old baby died at Nuzvid Government Hospital on Saturday after undergoing treatment for few days at Gayatri Women & Child Care Hospitals in Suryaraopet, Vijawada. According to ENVS Anil Kumar, a sales executive said that the baby, born on October 19, accidentally consumed the amniotic fluid during delivery and was admitted to the city hospital. “Around `5.5 lakh was spent to save my child while doctors claimed that he was out of danger.
Later the baby’s condition worsened by October 28 when his body swelled up. They decided to shift him to another hospital in Nuzvid,’’ he said.After examining the new born’s condition, doctors declared that due to multiple organ failure, the chances of the baby’s survival were slim. “The lethargic attitude of the doctors has killed my son. I want justice,’’ said Anil Kumar. A complaint has been registered with Suryaraopet police.
