Inquest into RUH death

An inquest into the death of a Bath woman was held today.

The family of Maureen Perkins complained to the RUH after “she came out in a box” in May.

University criticism

A former chairman of the local authority said he thought a University of Bath committee was not ‘a very democratic organisation’.

The institution came under fire from councillors as they passed a motion expressing concern at its levels of pay inequality and that ‘reputational damage caused by constant negative press attention’ is a concern for Bath and North East Somerset Council.

Military use of toll bridge

Chronicle readers disagree with the Batheaston Toll Bridge policy of charging on-duty military personnel to pass.

A debate on the issue ensued after three military vehicles blocked the bridge because they didn’t have change to pay the fee, and had to be covered by a generous member of the public.
