Phone scammers strike again. A woman who lives on the 3300 block of Lynwood Avenue, Littleton, told police she received a call Oct. 30 from someone claiming to be “Deputy Mike” from the Denver Police Department. “Deputy Mike” allegedly said the woman’s husband missed jury duty, and the only way to prevent his arrest was to go to King Soopers and put $1,600 on several money cards, and then share the serial numbers with him. The woman didn’t realize she was being scammed until the deed was done, according to a police report.
Cellphone tracking app. An employee at Walmart, 133 Sam Walton Lane, Castle Rock, called police Oct. 11 to report her cellphone was allegedly taken from the employee break room. She used a phone locator app to track the phone to the parking lot outside, where police reported recovering it from the back of a truck, according to a police report. The employee didn’t want to press charges.
Unprovoked car tagging. A woman called police to her home on the 400 block of Gordon Drive, Castle Rock, to report someone had allegedly spray painted her car Oct. 19 while it was parked in her driveway overnight. “FU 666” was written on the driver’s side window and door in black paint, according to a police report.
Stolen car. On Oct. 10, police arrested a woman who was in possession of a stolen 2002 Nissan Pathfinder on the 6900 block of North Trailway, Parker, according to a police report.
The big no-no. A woman was arrested Oct. 26 on suspicion of assaulting a Douglas County Sheriff’s deputy on the 11600 block of Fenwick Circle, Parker. There were no further details on the report.
