UP Board exams 2018: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has made Aadhaar card mandatory for students appearing in class 10 and 12 board exams next year. These students have to reach the exam centre along with their Aadhaar card. The UP Board high school and intermediate school exams will be held from February 6 onwards.

As per UP Board secretary, Neena Srivastava, the idea is to establish the identity of the student. “With the held of Aadhaar number, we will be able to curb fraudulent registrations and many other malpractices,” said she.

In case the students fail to carry their Aadhaar cards, the exam authority will not allow them to sit for the exams. ReadUPMSP makes Aadhaar compulsory for class 10th and 12th exams

For class 10, a total of 37,12,508 students are expected to appear while in class 12, it is about 30,17,032. In all, 67,29,540 students will sit for the exams. The number of candidates has increased from last year.

In 2017, as many as 3.40 lakh students appeared from class 10, while for class 12, as many as 2654492 students registered for the exam.
