YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Saturday received renowned cardiologist, surgeon, professor, and academician Leo Bokeria, who is visiting Armenia to develop cooperation and exchange know-how with several medical centers in the country.

First, the President lauded Dr. Bokeria’s contribution to the progress in cardiac surgery. Also, he thanked the prominent physician for his willingness to share his respective skills with others. Sargsyan stressed that Armenia attaches great importance to the development of health care, and the introduction of advanced practice in medicine. The President expressed the hope that Bokeria’s visit to Armenia will be of great assistance to the development of this sector in the country.

The renowned physician, for his part, assured that he will spare no effort in contributing to the progress of cardiovascular surgery in Armenia. In addition, Professor Leo Bokeria noted that he is impressed with the country’s medical centers he visited and their highly skilled professionals, with whom he will be glad to collaborate.
