If you’ve ever bit into Tacofino’s signature Diablo cookie—an ooey, gooey morsel of a treat that somehow manages to strike a balance between sweet, salty, and spicy—and thought, ‘Man, this thing would taste great as a beer’, well, the craft-brew lords are here to deliver.

A chocolatey dessert with a kick, the taco-truck-turned-restaurant’s Diablo cookie is the latest muse for some of B.C.’s top brewers. Namely, Superflux Beer Company and Four Winds Brewing Company, who have teamed up with Tacofino to concoct the Diablo Cookie Porter.

The Diablo Cookie Porter will be available at Tacofino locations, Starthcona Beer Company, and select liquor stores starting November 21.

Available for a limited time, the beer boasts notes of vanilla, cayenne pepper, ginger, and cinnamon—all key ingredients in the Diablo recipe, which was developed by Tacofino cofounder Kaeli Robinsong when the brand launched in 2009.

The small-batch porter will hit taps at Tacofino’s four brick-and-mortar outposts in Vancouver (2327 East Hastings Street; 15 West Cordova Street; 1025 Mainland Street; and 122–1050 West Pender Street), as well as at Strathcona Beer Company (895 East Hastings Street) where Superflux brews from, starting November 21.

The brew will also be available by the can at Strathcona and select liquor stores. A happy-hour event at Tacofino Gastown (15 West Cordova Street) will allow keen fans a first taste of the beer on November 21 from 4 to 7 p.m
