An Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Buxar district magistrate killed himself at his house on Sunday after allegedly not being given his salary for several months.

Taukir Akram, an officer of Bihar Administrative Services, was found dead at his official residence.

Buxar District Magistrate said Akram had not left a suicide note, but police have begun investigating the case.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar voiced his shock, and ordered senior bureaucrats to investigate the death.

The development came less than four months of former Buxar district magistrate Mukesh Pandey’s suicide in Gaziabad over what police are saying were “personal reasons”.
