Whites boss Thomas Christiansen addressed the media after his side’s impressive 2-1 win over Boro today, and responded to a question asking him if he had any sympathy for Garry Monk, following the hostile reception that he received from the home fans, as quoted by ITV Sport.

Leeds jumped up to seventh in the Championship table after their win today, just one place behind Middlesbrough, and the wave of optimism that surrounded Elland Road at the start of the season seems to have returned once again.

Christiansen had found himself under heavy pressure heading into the game against the Teesside outfit, but his side’s three points will give him some breathing space, as he looks to guide them back into play-off contention.

Monk, on the other hand, will be bitterly disappointed to leave his former home with nothing to show for his side’s efforts.

The 38-year-old received harsh treatment from the Whites faithful throughout the game, and Christiansen responded to reporters when asked if he had any sympathy for his opposite number, as quoted by ITV Sport:

“No. Garry or me, we are not playing. It’s the players who have to respond on the pitch.”

Next up for the west Yorkshire outfit is a trip to league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night, and a win at Molineux really would kick-start their campaign.
