An independent candidate in fray for the upcoming civic body elections was shot at and injured here, police said.
Fuzail Ahmed (30), contesting the election for the post of corporator for ward no. 8, was returning after campaigning when he was shot at by motorcycle-borne assailants on Sunday, police said.
The locals rushed Ahmed to the district hospital. PTI
