Jeremy Corbyn aide David Prescott has returned to work, less than two weeks after his suspension over harassment claims was revealed.

Prescott, the son of Lord John Prescott and a key member of the Labour leader’s team, reportedly chaired a regular meeting of media advisors today.

The Mirror revealed he had been suspended 13 days ago - it was understood to have started a few days earlier.

Details of the allegation or allegations have not been made public.

The Politics Home website reported a Labour source said: “He wasn't suspended by the party, but from work. He has returned to work.”

After his suspension, a Labour spokesman said: “The party takes all complaints of sexual harassment, abuse and discrimination extremely seriously.

"We ask that anyone with a complaint comes forward so that allegations can be properly investigated.

"When evidence of misconduct comes to light, all appropriate disciplinary action is taken in line with the party’s rule book and procedures."

Earlier this year, Mr Prescott failed in a bid to become the party’s candidate for the safe seat of Hull West and Hessle after former Home Secretary Alan Johnson stood down in the run-up to June’s election.

Mr Prescott is a media advisor to the Shadow Cabinet and has become a key member of Mr Corbyn’s circle.
