Patidar leader Hardik Patel conducted a rally in Morbi on Wednesday, at a place which is separated by 30 kilometres from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed a huge gathering today. Adding flavour to already politically coloured Gujarat polls, Hardik Patel tweeted photos to show the kind of crowd he is capable of mobilising in the heart of Gujarat’s Saurashtra for next month’s assembly elections. “This huge crowd of thousands at a public meeting to discuss reservation and farmers’ issues in Morbi district is encouraging,” tweeted Hardik Patel. It is obvious that Patidar leader timed his Morbi rally to clash with the Prime Minister’s rally. In effect, Gujarat polls is showing the effect 2 totally different personalities can generate in the public – on one hand, there is a towering personality of PM Modi and on the other a mass mobiliser of Patidar community.
The Patidar leader also tweeted about “Chowk pe Charcha” or discussion on crossroads in Morbi district’s Belagaon. He expressed concern about the condition of farmers in the village. He also accused that no party pays attention to the issue of farmers.

Morbi district has three assembly seats. In 2012, when the Chief Minister Modi led his party to yet another victory in Gujarat, the BJP had won two seats in Morbi and the Congress one.
This electoral campaign is turning out to be nothing short of a Bollywood climax where all characters meet. The Congress Vice-President has landed in Diu and begun his day with a darshan in Somnath temple in the afternoon. He will visit Gir Somnath, Visavadar in Junagadh and proceed to Savarkundla in Amreli.
