History sheets of 4 Indian Mujahideen operatives opened in Azamgarh

VARANASI: The Saraimir police station of Azamgarh district opened history sheets of four alleged Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives. These four absconding IM operatives including Abu Rashid alias Sheikh alias Danda, Dr Shahnawaz Alam, Mohammad Sajid alias Bada Sajid and Mohammad Rashid Sultan belong to Sanjarpur village of the district.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has a bounty of Rs10 lakh each on Shahnawaz, Abu Rashid and Sajid. Azamgarh SP Ajay Kumar Sahni said that it was decided that history sheets of all terror suspects hailing from the state would be opened to record the cases lodged against them in police stations of their native districts for surveillance purpose.
According to the station officer of Saraimeer police station Ram Naresh Yadav, Abu Rashid’s historysheet has been opened with number 70A, Shahnawaj’s as 46A, Sajid’s as 37A and Mohammad Rashid’s as 26A.

It may be mentioned here that recently the NIA, with the help of of UP ATS, arrested LeT terrorist Shaikh Abdul Nayeem alias Nomi, resident of Aurangabad (Maharashtra), from Charbagh Bus Stand, Lucknow on November 28.
According to NIA records, the agency registered a case on September 10, 2012 at NIA police station, New Delhi under sections 121A and 123 of IPC, Section 17, 18, 18B and 20 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against top IM operatives. The IM members in association with the other IM sleeper cells based in the country and abroad, are conspiring to commit terrorist act, by making preparation for targeting various important and prominent places of India including Delhi by causing bomb blasts, with the active aid and support from their Pakistan based operatives and associates and others, thus, waging war against the Indian government.
