Shahdara by-pass

Published December 12, 2017

SHAHDARA is one of the main entrances to Lahore and therefore it has to bear the pressure of the traffic explosion.

Traffic enters into the city through the Shahdara by-pass, that connects the Muridke and Sheikhupra roads to the metropolitan city through the signal-free crossing. Without signals or underpass, there are hours-long traffic jams.

Long lines of stationary vehicles add an extra amount of environmental and noise pollution. Pedestrians face a lot of problems while crossing the road. In the meanwhile, accidents occur as a daily routine.

The authorities should take effective action to tackle the issue by building underpasses and bridges to make the flow of traffic smooth.
