Gujarat Elections LIVE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today undertook a sea-plane from Sabarmati river in the city to Dharoi dam in Mehsana district, the first-ever flight by such a craft in the country. PM Modi said that it is for the first time in the country that a sea-plane will land on the Sabarmati river. He will offer prayers at the Ambaji Temple after landing in Dharoi dam in Mehsana district. As per the schedule, Modi took off the sea-plane from Sabarmati riverfront near Sardar Bridge He landed at the Dharoi dam and then visited the Ambaji Temple. The roadshows that were to be held on Monday in Ahmedabad by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was cancelled after Gujarat police denied permission to hold the rallies citing that they could cause traffic congestions leading to great public inconvenience and refused to permit the roadshows.
