A pro-Trump political action committee (PAC) is featuring right-wing talking head Tomi Lahren in its video and in call center recordings aimed at derailing special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation and ultimately firing him, said Think Progress on Thursday.
The Great America PAC has launched a second set of ads featuring Lahren in local cable markets. The videos call on voters to donate to the PAC and to agitate for four attorneys to be fired from the Mueller team because they have donated to Democratic politicians or the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
“Who does Mueller select to help lead the ‘independent’ investigation?” Lahren said in the first round of videos. “Four top lawyers, all major donors to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and the Democratic national party… Only in Washington could a rigged game like this be called ‘independent.’”
The new ads are reportedly very similar to those that aired last summer and offer viewers a call-in number. Think Progress' Addy Baird called and was treated to a series of messages by Lahren calling for support for President Donald Trump and instructing callers to press "1" to donate and "2" to proceed to a second appeal by Lahren for donations.
“I understand a donation is a lot to ask for but now is our time to stand up and support President Trump," said Lahren on tape.
When Baird reached an operator, the call center employee assured her that not only does Great America want to see the "Clinton Four" fired, they want Mueller taken off the job as well.
“They’re calling for [Mueller] to be fired as well the four,” said a Great America employee named Nancy. "We were the organization that ran all those ads for Donald Trump to help get him elected.”
Trump supporters in the media and in Congress have been ramping up their attacks on Mueller's objectivity and calling for an end to his investigation.
Lahren moved to Fox News after getting fired from Glenn Beck's The Blaze.
Statements Lahren made supporting a woman's right to reproductive choice during an appearance on ABC's "The View" were reportedly the final straw in a long-simmering rift between Lahren and her coworkers at The Blaze in which Lahren displayed "diva" behavior and created a "toxic atmosphere" at the struggling conservative website.
According to an FNC spokesperson, Lahren taped the ad prior to her joining Fox News.
