CHITRADURGA: The wild tusker that has been camping in the district since Friday trampled a man at Talikatte village of Holalkere taluk on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Galeppa (45). Villagers say the pachyderm might have attacked Galeppa when he went to work in his field in the morning.
On Friday, several people suffered injuries at Dhummi, Talikatte and Bettadakadur villages and forest department officials were busy driving out the tusker towards the neighbouring Chikkanayakanahalli forest.
The wild elephant had been roaming around in Molakalmuru and Challakere since December 3 before moving to Davangere and Shivamogga districts.
