Aisha Dee and Nikohl Boosheri, pictured in an episode of “The Bold Type,” revealed they have the same favorite Christmas movie. Freeform

Aisha Dee and Nikohl Boosheri play love interests Kat and Adena on Freeform’s “The Bold Type,” but that’s not all they have in common. They also love the same Christmas movie, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

Dee, who plays the free spirited Kat on “The Bold Type,” revealed that the movie is part of her family tradition. “The Jim Carrey version of ‘The Grinch’ has a special place in my heart because it’s the movie that I watched every Christmas Eve with my mom and my little sister,” the Australian actress revealed in a video promoting Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas. “I know it like word for word. It’s kind of sad, but I do.”

Boosheri, who plays the artistic traveler Adena, was a little less personal in her promotional video. “My favorite holiday movie to watch during Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas is ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas,’ so watch that with me tonight,” she tells the camera.

So are we going to see Kat and Adena sitting down to watch the 2000 Jim Carrey movie? We can only hope. Yet, fans see the promo video as a good sign for the couple. Most of the actors involved in 25 Days of Christmas promos are series regulars. This could be a hint that Boosheri has been upgraded from guest star to full time cast member in Season 2. However, no announcements have been made.

Kat and Adena fans are definitely hoping Boosheri sticks around for Season 2. When “The Bold Type” Season 1 left off, Adena wasn’t allowed back into the country and had to go home. After moping for a while without her, Kat finally grabbed her passport and headed off to have an adventure.

Will they reunite in Season 2? That is unknown, but Dee made it clear that she and Boosheri are happy to work together. She said that their friendship makes their intimate scenes a little less awkward.

“Honestly Nikohl is great,” Dee raved to BuddyTV. “It’s weird when you’re getting naked in front of a crew of however many people. We’re so close, her and I, she’s such a great friend and we were very open with each other. ‘This is uncomfortable, great, we’re going to get through it!’ And all of that.”

Fans will find out what happens to the couple when “The Bold Type” returns to Freeform next year. The show has already been renewed for Seasons 2 and 3.
