6,998 postal ballots received in Hamirpur

HAMIRPUR: As many as 6,998 postal ballots had been received in five constituencies of the district, including Bhoranj, Sunajpur, Hamirpur, Barsar and Nadaun.



Hamirpur, December 17

As many as 6,998 postal ballots had been received in five constituencies of the district, including Bhoranj, Sunajpur, Hamirpur, Barsar and Nadaun.

The maximum number of ballots were received in the Barasr constituency 1,542 followed by Sujanur 1,483, Nadaun 1,465, Bhoranj 1,364 and Hamirpur 1,144. The counting of the votes would start with counting of the postal ballot in the first round.

It was apprehended that these votes give some picture of the result of the respective constituency as the postal voters usually come from different villages scattered over the constituency. It was also in the air that many voters had gone to the candidates to prove their loyalty by ticking their ballots in the presence of candidate. — OC
