Gujarat Gir Somnath election results 2017 LIVE UPDATES from Talala, Kodinar, Una constituencies: The political battle in Gujarat has intensified with the assembly elections inching towards the second phase. Both the rival parties – the BJP and the Congress have presented their case in front of the state folks. The young guns of Gujarat politics – Hardik Patel, Alpesh Thakor and Jignesh Mevani are also expected to influence the choice of the people in the upcoming polls. Come 18 December, and Gujarat’s decision will be out in the front. For peaceful and people-friendly elections, the Election Commissioner has instructed that every polling station should be equipped with Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) like drinking water, shed, toilet, ramp for the physically challenged voters, a standard voting compartment etc. for the convenience and facilitation of voters. At least 182 women-managed polling stations will also be set up for the entire state of Gujarat for the first time. Coming to the Gir Somnath constituency, it had a total of 217928 registered electorates in the 2012 assembly polls. As per the 2011 Census, Junagadh municipality had a population of 319,462.The constituency had 252 polling stations and went to polls in the first phase on December 9. As per the Election Commission, the final voter turnout in the first phase of the Gujarat elections for 89 seats stood at 66.75 per cent which is well below 71.32 per cent voter turnout in 2012.
