Air India to start Amritsar-Nanded flight from December 23

State-owned Air India plans to introduce a new direct flight connecting the two holy cities of Sikhs — Nanded and Amritsar — to meet the increasing consumer demand for tourists in the new year.

CHENNAI: State-owned Air India plans to introduce a new direct flight connecting the two holy cities of Sikhs — Nanded and Amritsar — to meet the increasing consumer demand for tourists in the new year.

The flight on the Amritsar-Nanded-Amritsar route will begin operations from December 23 and will operate twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays with an A-320 neo aircraft.

Fight AI 815 will depart from Amritsar at 10:55 hrs to reach Nanded at 13:10 hrs, while the return flight AI 816 will leave Nanded at 13:50 hrs to arrive in Amritsar at 16:30 hrs.

This flight will give a boost to tourism and will also fulfil a long-standing demand of travellers, and tourists to both these historic and religious centres, Air India said in a statement.

The national carrier is also offering special return fares of `7,800 plus taxes on the Amritsar-Nanded-Amritsar route.
