Doctors boycott OPD work in Bhojpur hospitals
ARA: Health services in Bhojpur district are likely to be affected as members of the Bihar State Health Services Association (BSHSA) and the Bhojpur chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Saturday decided to boycott work at the outpatient departments (OPDs) of sadar hospital and other health centres of the district indefinitely to protest alleged undignified and insulting words used by Bhojpur DM Sanjeev Kumar against the Bhojpur civil surgeon Ras Bihari Singh.

President of Bhojpur IMA Dr Bijay Kumar Singh said at a joint meeting of BSHSA and IMA Bhojpur chapter, the doctors expressed outrage at the undignified language used by the Bhojpur DM against the civil surgeon. Expressing solidarity with the civil surgeon, the doctors have demanded appropriate action against the DM. The doctors also decided to take out a procession on Sunday over the issue.
The civil surgeon said when an orthopaedic doctor got late in reaching the mega health camp being held at Jagdispur, the DM used undignified language against him and also threatened to send him to jail.
The DM, however, denied having used undignified language against the civil surgeon. “I just rebuked him,” he claimed.
