ARA: Bhojpur doctors have called off their three-day strike and resumed duty on Tuesday following a meeting with the district magistrate, Sanjeev Kumar, on Monday night.
Bihar State Health Services Association (BHSA) district secretary Dr B K Shukla, deputy superintendent of sadar hospital Dr Satish Kumar Sinha and a prominent doctor of the town, Kumar Jeetendra, took part in the talks held with the DM to end the deadlock.

It may be mentioned here that Bhojpur doctors under the banner of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and BHSA had gone on an indefinite strike from Saturday afternoon in protest against the alleged undignified language used by the DM against civil surgeon Dr Ras Bihari Singh over phone.
However, the DM had categorically denied having used any undignified language against the civil surgeon, claiming that he had just rebuked the civil surgeon for the late arrival of an orthopaedician in the mega health camp at Jagdishpur, which was organized for the physically challenged and poor elderly patients as part of the government’s social security programme. Later, the DM had ordered to withhold the salary of the civil surgeon for alleged dereliction of duty.
After talks with the DM, the deputy superintendent said the DM has assured to take back the order of withholding the salary of the civil surgeon.
Healthcare services were affected in government hospitals and health centres across Bhojpur district as doctors boycotted outpatient department (OPD) work for the second day on Sunday to protest the alleged undignified language used by district magistrate Sanjeev Kumar against civil surgeon Ras Bihari Singh.
The doctors even took out an ‘aakrosh march’ on Sunday which passed through different thoroughfares of the town before culminating at the sadar hospital from where it had started.
