President to visit Chitrakoot on January 8
LUCKNOW: The state machinery on Wednesday started gearing up for President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit to Chitrakoot. Kovind is slated to attend some events in Chitrakoot and bordering Satna district of Madhya Pradesh on January 8 (Monday).
Chief secretary Rajive Kumar on Wednesday morning called up top bureaucrats and police officials for a meeting at his office. Officials posted in Chitrakoot division were also asked to participate through video conferencing.
Sharing details, additional director general (law and order) Anand Kumar said that force from neighbouring districts was being drawn for the President’s visit.
“We would get minute-to-minute programme in a few days. Meanwhile order to increase vigil in Chitrakoot has been given to local police,” added Kumar.
Kovind is slated to attend convocation at Jagadguru Rambhadracharya University, the educational institute set up in Karwi area of Chitrakoot for physically challenged persons. The founder of the university Rambhadracharya is himself visually impaired. Elected as President in July last year, the spiritual guru Rambhadracharya had prophesied that Kovind would take the topmost job in the country during a function at Samastipur (Bihar) in May. Kovind was governor of Bihar then.
Associated with Vishva Hindu Parishad, Rambhadracharya was also awarded second highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan in 2015. He is also one of the nine people nominated by Narendra Modi for spreading Clean India Campaign in Uttar Pradesh. Kovind’s next halt would be Deendayal Research Institute in Satna district. The institute was established by Nanaji Deshmukh who passed away in 2010.
