PATNA: Two unidentified bike borne criminals shot dead Pawan Singh (52) outside his residence located at Chittaranjan Road in Karyanand Nagar under Town police station on Tuesday morning.
Pawan was the complainant as well as among one of the main witnesses in the triple murder case that took place on August 2, 2017. Ramshekhar Singh (65), his son Sanjeev Kumar alias Jhalo Singh (38) and nephew Indrasen Kumar alias Ripu Singh (38) were shot dead at village Pokhrama under Kajra police station in the district in connection with property dispute.
Ramshekar was Pawan’s cousin brother.
Town police station SHO Rajesh Ranjan said that the deceased was sitting outside along with some other persons beside a bonfire when two suspects wearing helmet reached the spot and opened fire targeting Pawan and fled immediately.
He said that the Pawan died on the spot and some cartridges of 9mm, generally used by contract killers, were recovered by police from the spot.
“Preliminary investigation indicate that those involved in killing the trio in the month of August were involved in the killing of Pawan,” the SHO said.
Kajra police station SHO Sujeet Warsi said that Pawan, who was also a native of Pokhrama village was on side of Ramshekhar.
“Ramshekar and Pawan were involved in continuous clash with Kiran Singh and Shaligram Singh alias Khapru Singh over of six bigha of fertile land in Pokhrama,” he said. He said that the property dispute was ongoing for several years which resulted in the bloodshed that took place in August last year.

Warsi said that Pawan had lodged named FIR against 11 accused including Kiran and Shaligram in connection with the murder case. “Nine named accused were arrested in connection with the murder case while Guddu Kumar (20) and Dilip Kumar (24), both son of Shaligram were evading arrest,” SHO Warsi said. He said that Pawan was yet to depose in the case for which he was murdered.
Post mortem of Pawan’s body was ongoing at Sadar hospital in Lakhisarai at the time of filing the news.
