Engine of Patna-bound Magadh Express caught fire near Tundiganj station in Bihar's Buxar district on Monday.
The fire was confined to the locomotive, which was detached from the rest of the train to prevent the fire from spreading.
No burn injuries were reported, although some reportedly wounded themselves while trying to jump of the train.
Chief public relation officer (CPRO) Rajesh Kumar said: "Rrain movement hampered when locomotive of Magadh Express caught fire near Tundiganj in Buxar. Passengers remain safe”.
