Bidar man gives away saris for free to generate voter awareness
BIDAR: Chandrashekar Pasarge, owner of 'Sristi-Dristi' sari center and JD(S) supporter from Bidar has been distributing saris for as little as Re 1 since January 15. But there's one caveat: only voter card holders are eligible!
This isn't an aimless exercise. Pasarge has political ambitions and plans to contest in the upcoming assembly polls on a JD(S) ticket.
He also wishes for JD(S) President H D Kumarswamy to become the chief minister of Karnataka once again.
The retail price of these saris ranges between Rs 150-Rs 250, but Pasarge is practically giving them away for free to voter card holders.
However, this offer is available for a limited time only. You can get your hands on a free sari at Pasarge's store between 10 am and noon till January 30, 2018.
The owner's aim is to distribute 5 lakh sarees in 15 days.
Women have been flocking to Pasarge's shop for the last two days to avail the unbelievable offer.
"In Bidar, nearly 45,000 people don't have voter ID. My intention is to make them aware and get their voter ID. So, I decided to distribute saris freely to those who turn up with their voter cards," said Pasarge.
