Liverpool have been told to look elsewhere by Stoke after considering a £40m offer for England goalkeeper Jack Butland.

The Reds have been struggling to find a dependable No.1 with Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius routinely making mistakes between the sticks.

Jurgen Klopp had been keen to acquire Butland but the Potters have dismissed the possibility of a sale and would not even consider a £40m offer, report the Express.

This will leave the Reds looking elsewhere or hoping for a reliable run from either Mignolet or Karius in the second half of the campaign in a bid to make the top four and win a trophy.

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius admits his situation "wasn't satisfying"

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius is determined to take his latest chance in the Reds goal.

The 24-year-old was been somewhat surprisingly promoted to the club's outright No. 1 by manager Jurgen Klopp before last weekend's 4-3 win over Manchester City - during which Karius was criticised for conceding a goal to Leroy Sane at his near post.

The former Mainz stopper was playing in only his fourth Premier League match of the season, but he did figure in all six Champions League group games in place of Simon Mignolet, who was previously turned to to don the gloves in domestic league matches.

And - speaking to a publication in his native Germany - Karius has claimed that he wasn't happy with how his Reds career was panning out before this latest show of faith from Klopp.

Liverpool 'leading Everton and Arsenal in race for Charlton starlet Ezri Konsa'

Liverpool are reportedly leading Everton and Arsenal in the race for Charlton starlet Ezri Konsa.

The England Under-20 World Cup winner is expected to leave the Valley in the transfer window with a host of top-flight club interested.

Charlton boss Karl Robinson said of Konsa: “He’s the best young centre-back in the country, there is nobody better then him, fact."
