Koraput victim's brother moves Supreme court for justice
CUTTACK: Brother of the minor tribal girl, who was allegedly gang-raped in Koraput in October last year and committed suicide in January after losing all hope of getting justice, has moved Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe into the entire episode.
Brother of the 15-year-old girl has alleged that he has no faith on the investigation of the state police and wants an independent inquiry into the incident from the alleged gang-rape to suicide of her sister.

The petitioner has alleged that all attempts were made by state police to sabotage the investigation process. He has also contended in the writ petition that malafide and ill-motivated investigation by the police caused grave and immeasurable damage to the minor as a result of which she took the extreme step to end her life.
The petitioner has also cited that the state machinery tried its best to manipulate the medical evidence in the case as it was evident from the fact that the state forensic laboratory submitted two contradictory reports. In its October 16 dated report, the forensic laboratory mentioned about the presence of semen on the recovered garments of the girl, however, surprisingly in the October 23 report it denied presence of any semen.
The petitioner has urged that only a CBI probe can unravel the truth behind the entire incident and ensure justice to his sister. The petitioner has prayed the Apex court to order for CBI inquiry as it is the only way through which the real culprits will be nabbed. “The petition was filed on February 7 and it will be taken up for hearing in the third week of February,” said counsel of the petitioner.
