Updates: Rahul Gandhi conducts roadshow in Koppal as part of Karnataka poll campaign

The Congress president is on a three-day trip to the State.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who kicked off his three-day poll campaign in Karnataka, addressed meetings in Koppal district of Hyderabad-Karnataka region on Sunday.

He is also scheduled to hold an interaction with youth Congress workers and a meeting with farmers at Sindhanur in Raichur district.

'Development only under Congress'

Addressing the public at Kustagi in Koppal district, AICC president rahul Gandhi said that Karnataka witnessed high corruption during previous Bjp regime in Karnataka (2008-13).

Mr. Gandhi said Karnataka had witnessed high levels of corruption during the previous BJP regime.

The Siddaramaiah-government is scam free, he said. "Development is possible only under the Congress government ", Mr. Gandhi said.

The previous government led by the Congress at the centre accorded special status to six districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka region under 371J of the Constitution, he said.

"We also sanctioned three medical  colleges to the region," Mr. Gandhi said.

A large number of people welcomed Congress president Rahul Gandhi at Kustagi in Koppal district of Hyderabad-Karnataka region, on the second day of his poll campaign.

Mr. Gandhi kicked off his Karnataka campaign with a three-day trip to the State from Saturday.

He is expected to address public meetings in Koppal district later in the day.

Top Congress leaders including KPCC President G. Parameshwara are accompanying Mr. Gandhi.
