MLAs spell out priorities for Chamba, Una, Hamirpur

Legislators from Chamba, Una, and Hamirpur districts today listed their priorities during the planning meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here.

Chamba district

Jiya Lal (Bharmour) demanded early execution of irrigation schemes in Bharmour, road network in the Pangi Valley and a tunnel to connect Pangi with Chamba district through an all-weather road. Pawan Nayyar (Chamba) sought for an early completion of work on the Draman-Sinhuta via Jot road, widening of road to tourist destination Khajjiar and beatification of Khajjiar Lake. He demanded work on irrigation and drinking water supply schemes be speeded up in the constituency. Bikram Singh Jaryal (Bhatiyat) demanded strengthening of Civil Hospital Chuwari, establishing a transformer in Civil Hospital, Dalhousie, and starting work on the construction of the PHC Kakhira building. He demanded construction of buildings for the newly opened educational institutions, including ITI, Ghanota, metalling of roads and establishing quality electricity transformers.

Una district

Balbir Singh (Chintpurni) demanded status of the Municipal Corporation for Amb and a food park to facilitate farmers and fishery. Rajesh Thakur (Gagret) demanded the construction of a bridge between Amb and Chintpurni, opening of the IPH division at Daulatpur and filling vacant posts of doctor in Gagret Hospital. Satpal Raizada (Una) demanded starting of sewerage plants in Una, Mehatpur and Santokhgarh and construction of a new mini secretariat building at Una. Mukesh Agnihotri (Haroli) demanded enhancement of MLA fund up to Rs 2 crore and discretionary fund up to Rs 25 lakh.

Hamirpur district

Kamlesh Kumari (Bhoranj) sought for preparation of a major water supply scheme for Bhoranj, funds for repairing roads, construction of drains, filling posts of doctor in Civil Hospital and construction of buildings for PHCs at Balokhar and Saloh. Sukhvinder Singh Thakur (Nadaun) demanded the starting of work on Spice Park and handing over of heliports to the Public Works Department and more tunnels constructed on the Shimla-Mataur national highway to make the route shorter. Rajender Rana (Sujanpur) demanded promotion of tourism and construction of a bus stand at Sujanpur, additional building for Sujanpur hospital and deployment of specialist doctors there. Narender Thakur (Hamirpur) raised demand funds for technical university, Hamirpur, and starting of classes in Hamirpur medical college from this session and filling of posts of specialist doctor in Hamirpur hospital. Inder Dutt Lakhanpal (Barsar) demanded the strengthening of Civil Hospital Barsar, deputing doctors and paramedical staff in PHCs Bhota, Bijhari, Chakmoh and Badagran and making a fire office at Dhatwal functional.
