MODEL BEHAVIOUR: These plus size ladies asked the event to feature more curvy models

Activists flaunted their curves at London Fashion Week to make a statement about body positivity.

In the capital, the women protested against size zero models and called for greater inclusivity at runway shows.

The lingerie-clad women were led out by Hayley Hasselhoff, an actress with a passion for the plus size fashion industry.

The models were called to the streets by fashion brand Simply Be, who organised the protest.

To dress for the occasion, they wore a wide variety of the store's underwear styles.

While some emphasised their figures with lace bodies, others risked wardrobe malfunctions in plunging bras.

The protestors clutched onto placards that displayed messages of body positivity.

These included “love your curves” and “curves shouldn’t mean compromise”.

SIZE MATTERS: The group called for more body inclusivity

Discussions about size zero models are nothing new.

Catwalk stars previously opened up about the pressures of slimming in the fashion industry.

Others revealed that they were told that they were “too fat” to model.

Fashion giants LVMH and Kering are among those who have banned the waif-thin catwalk stars from featuring in their shows.

Many brands started choosing more realistic models to represent them.

Aerie has been praised for selecting Iskra Lawrence as one of their campaign leaders.

The model has starred in all manner of photoshoots, including one where she stripped off in the snow.
