US, Turkey to overcome Syria differences


(MENAFN) During US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's trip to Ankara, the United States and Turkey have settled to overcome their difference of opinions when it comes to Syria.

In a joint press conference, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu declared "turkey and the U.S. reached understanding to normalize relations, there are steps to be taken, Turkey and U.S. decided to form new mechanisms to deal with issues."

The US Secretary of State confirmed "we stand shoulder to shoulder with Turkey against terrorist threats and we salute our partnership with Turkey."

He further announced that "relations with Turkey are not an alliance of convenience but a time-tested alliance."
