Nicholas Martin, who was voted in as Honorary President of the Woodhall Spa Society last August, is a frequent visitor to the village, as he plays twice a month for dances in Coronation Hall.

Nicholas started his career at the age of 17, as the youngest resident organist at the Blackpool Tower.

Two years later, he was approached by Nigel Turner to become the resident Wurlitzer organist at a new venture to be known as Turners Musical Merry-Go-Round; a position he held for 22 years until Turners closed in 2004.

Since then, he has played many concerts abroad, including Australia and New Zealand, as well as 31 consecutive annual visits to Florida to play the magnificent pipe Organ in the Kirk of Dunedin.

His recordings are regularly featured on BBC Radio 2’s ‘The Organist Entertains’ and he has made several television appearances.
