Three arrested in UP's Chandauli district for UP Board paper leak

The police on Tuesday busted a gang involved in leaking the question papers of UP Board examinations recently and arrested three persons including a school teacher, a school manager and a coaching operator in Chandauli district.

VARANASI: The police on Tuesday busted a gang involved in leaking the question papers of UP Board examinations recently and arrested three persons including a school teacher, a school manager and a coaching operator in Chandauli district. They were booked under sections 420, 467, 468, 471 of IPC and 4/10 of UP Public Examinations (prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 1998.

The question papers of Physics-I and II were leaked on social media in Chandauli district on February 15 and 17 respectively. The Chandauli SP Santosh Kumar Singh said that after registering a case in this regard a police team was engaged to work out the case at the earliest.
During the investigation it came to light that a teacher of Kerala Public School, Kanjipur in Saiyyadraja area Jitendra Kumar along with the manager of Maulana Azad Inter College, Naudar in Ballua area Ruhool Amin alias Munna and a coaching operator Ranjan Singh of Bachhauli area leaked the question papers on social media. The police recovered the photocopy of handwritten question papers on intermediate Physics I and II, Rs. 8200 in cash and three mobile phones used in crime from them.
After booking them under sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record) of IPC and 4/10 of UP Public Examinations (prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 1998, they were sent to jail.
On February 17, four persons found solving the question paper of Physics-II at the residence of the principal of an inter college in Balua area in Chandauli district were arrested on February 17. The police also recovered over Rs. 15.50 lakh in cash, answer sheets and solved question, and a rifle from them. Besides, the STF had also caught three persons including the principal of a school and two teachers for solving question paper in Mirzapur district on the same day.
