The entertainment world has been stunned by the news of Stephen Fry's prostate cancer battle.

But few will be more surprised than his husband, Elliott Spencer.

The 30-year-old, who is three decades younger than Fry, will surely be feeling the brunt of the health scare - and no doubt helping Fry through this testing time.

But, three years after their surprise marriage, where are they now?

Here's everything you need to know.

What happened after their marriage?

Stephen and Elliott wed on 17 January 2015, then announced the news on Twitter.

Sharing an image of themselves signing the registry, Fry captioned it: "Gosh. @ElliottGSpencer and I go into a room as two people, sign a book and leave as one. Amazing."

Unfortunately, it wasn't an entirely happy time for Fry.

Shortly after their union, he was embroiled in a drama over a BAFTA joke, which saw him describe costume designer Jenny Beaven as "dressed like a bag lady".

The furore was so bad that Fry deleted his Twitter account and later declared he "wanted to leave the planet."

Instead, he simply left the country...

Where are they now?

Following this embarrassment, the couple relocated to Los Angeles, where Fry believed there would be more opportunity for Spencer to launch his comedy career.

Doing the move in style, Fry purchased a £1.8million pad high in the exclusive Hollywood Hills.

The couple's three-bedroom, three-bathroom house is reportedly so showbiz it's even got views of the iconic 'Hollywood' sign.

Previously owned by an oil tycoon, the 1920s, Spanish-style home was registered in their joint names.

"We're moving to Los Angeles and I'm applying for a green card," Elliott said at the time. "We're excited about having a new base."

Are they still together?

Thankfully, yes. Although most people expressed surprise - and concern - when Fry announced his nuptials to a much younger - and much poorer - man, they're still going strong.

During an appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show in February 2016, Fry mused over his first year of matrimony, saying: "I still am [married]. I think that may be a record in show business. It’s fabulous.

"It’s terrific, it gets better every day. I’ll sound really childish if I keep doing this but it’s like a miracle really, it’s just such a wonderful thing."

Granted, it's still technically the honeymoon period, but their relationship will certainly be put to the test over the coming months. We wish them all the best...

And are they still in the romance phase?

It appears so, yes.

While Stephen keeps most of his personal life off social media (who can blame him?), Elliott is more willing to share with the masses.

The couple embarked on a trip to Utah, last summer, where they posed for a number of sweet pictures - and even immortalised their visit by cementing their hand-prints in cement.

Meanwhile, over Christmas, they embarked on a festive break to the Arctic Circle, where they enjoyed sleigh rides.

Could they become fathers?

Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black recently announced that they're expecting a baby. But fans shouldn't expect the same from Fry and Spencer...

When asked if he'd like to become a dad, Fry said: "No, hmm, let’s just say I am a godfather. I have 13 godchildren, which is a source of constant joy.

"I've been slightly disappointed by all my godchildren who are ... all my godchildren are very well behaved, none of them have been expelled from school, none of them have had terrible drug problems.

"I haven’t had to go to a police station to pick one up at three in the morning for some terrible offence and they’re all really nice but in a nice way, not in a way that makes you want to slap them just really nice. It’s a delight though."
