FITCHBURG — A Worcester man was arraigned on motor vehicle theft charges on Friday after allegedly stealing the vehicle of a Fitchburg State University student he used to date.

Jerome Monroe, 20, of 11 Upland Gardens Drive in Worcester was arraigned on charges of larceny of a motor vehicle, use of a motor vehicle without authority, and larceny over $250 for the Feb. 13 theft.
According to court documents, Monroe had been visiting his ex-girlfriend on campus and had allegedly taken her car keys from her jacket pocket while she was getting food at one of the school’s dining halls.
Monroe allegedly drove off in the victim’s 2003 Hyundai Elantra and is also said to have taken her PlayStation video game console. The vehicle was recovered in Worcester later that evening. Monroe was released on personal recognizance after his Friday arraignment and has a pretrial hearing scheduled for March 29.
Fight at hospital leads to arrests
LEOMINSTER — A Fitchburg woman and Worcester man were arrested Wednesday for fighting with several police officers after being escorted off the premises of HealthAlliance Hospital.
Tyrara Rust, 22, of 81 Hazel St. in Fitchburg was charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, assault and battery on a police officer, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Her boyfriend, Estevan Escobar-Rivera, 22, of Worcester was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, disturbing the peace, and assault.
According to court documents, the pair were escorted off the hospital’s campus at about 9 p.m. Wednesday after Escobar-Rivera started yelling at hospital staff. The two walked off in the direction of Nelson Street but were followed by police as one resident in the area called to complain that they were standing in the middle of the road yelling.
Escobar-Rivera refused to leave the middle of the road and was told by police that he was under arrest. He then lunged at one officer and was placed in handcuffs after a brief struggle. During that struggle, Rust hit and kicked one of the officers. Both were arraigned in District Court on Thursday. Rust was ordered held in lieu of posting $300 cash bail or a $3,000 surety bond. Escobar-Rivera was released on personal recognizance.
Gas station robbery in Leominster
LEOMINSTER — A Fitchburg man was arraigned for armed robbery Thursday after allegedly stealing $80 from a gas station last month, according to court documents.
Conan Langlois, 39, of 35 Boxwood Circle was charged with armed and masked robbery for the Jan. 22 robbery of a Lancaster Street Shell Station.
According to court documents, a man matching Langlois’ description walked into the gas station at about 1:30 a.m. and asked the clerk for $80 while gesturing to his sweatshirt pocket and saying, “Don’t make me use this.”
The clerk said she believed the thief had been a regular customer, later identifying him as Langlois. He was ordered held in lieu of posting $5,000 cash bail or a $50,000 surety bond. He has a pretrial hearing scheduled for March 22.
