NEW DELHI: The principal of
Delhi University’s
Swami Shradhanand College was attacked by two unidentified men in
Narela on Thursday afternoon. The accused fled on a motorcycle after the incident.
Rajneesh Gupta, DCP (
Rohini), said the principal, PV Khatri, was taken to a nearby hospital and his statement would be recorded for further investigation.
A preliminary probe revealed that the incident happened at 2.30pm when Khatri was driving back home from Alipur.
Two men on a motorcycle started to drive alongside his vehicle and reportedly asked him to stop his car. When he did, they tried to forcibly enter the vehicle and dragged Khatri out of the car and started beating him up and then fled the scene.
Police said they are probing multiple angles into the incident, including road rage and personal enmity.
