Mohammed Shami ruled out any chances of reconciliation with his wife Hasin Jahan and said that he wants to see up to what extent she can go to 'spoil' his cricketing career.

"My wife's unable to prove half of the allegations she has put on me. Now, I want to see to what extent can she go. I tried to solve the issue for 7-8 days, but she openly said she doesn't want to, so now I also don't have any option but to take this up legally," Shami said.

He also said that he has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to allow him to play if he is proved innocent in the investigations carried on by board's Anti-Corruption Unit (ACSU).

"I've requested BCCI to start their investigation at the earliest and if I am proved to be innocent then let me resume my practice so that my game is not affected," said the 28-year-old.

Mohammed Shami-Hasin Jahan controversy: A timeline of events

Shami is currently being investigated for match-fixing claims after the Committee of Administrators (CoA) chairman Vinod Rai instructed BCCI's ACSU chief Neeraj Kumar to probe alleged corruption allegations against the cricketer, which surfaced during a reported telephonic conversation between the fast bowler and Hasin Jahan.

Hasin spent the larger part of the day at the city police head-quarters at Lal Bazar, where the ACSU officials interacted with her on the issue.

If reports are to believed, the right-arm pacer was questioned by the Police on Sunday at his Amroha residence in Uttar Pradesh. About which, he said: "Me and my family will fully cooperate and help during the investigation."

This issue started to get out of hand when an FIR was registered two weeks ago against Shami and four of his family members in Kolkata's Jadavpur police station under several Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections, including section 498A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives.

The other charges recorded against Shami are under Section 307 - attempt to murder, Section 323 - punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 - rape, Section 506 - criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34.

In recent developments on the case, Shami told a media outlet that his wife has the passwords of all his social media accounts, hinting that she might have fabricated the evidence.

"Instead of issuing an apology to me in front of Bengal Police and media persons, he is trying to hide his mistakes with false accusations. What is the point of it when an investigation is already underway?" Jahan reacted.

She further said that Shami has many social media accounts and that he changed their passwords except for one, for which she still has access to, and has "changed the password before he could."

On being asked if she was satisfied with the investigation, Jahan replied in the affirmative.

Hasin though, in an exclusive chat with India Today on Saturday, said she had never accused Shami of match-fixing.

Shami had told the media that his wife had made fixing claims against him but Jahan said she never made such allegations as she doesn't understand the game.

"I have never made any match-fixing claims. I do not even understand the game then how can I talk about it. It is Shami who is bringing the match-fixing angle," she told India Today.

However, the bowler has refuted all the allegations and said that someone was misleading his wife. He also said he is ready to talk the issue out with his wife.

Following the controversy, the BCCI decided to keep on hold Shami's annual contract.
