KANPUR: A goon on Wednesday allegedly pushed a 14-year-old girl off the second floor of her house in Aung police station area of Fatehpur district when she offered resistance to escape his rape bid.
The girl, who suffered head injuries and multiple fractures in the ordeal, is said to be battling for life at the district hospital while the accused is absconding.
Police have filed an FIR against the accused under various sections of IPC on a complaint moved by the girl’s parents.

According to the complaint, the accused, Suraj, barged into the girl’s house when she was alone and tried to rape her. “She offered resistance and ran upstairs in order to escape the rape attempt. The goon followed her and cornered her on the second floor. He severely thrashed her and threw her foff the roof,” alleged the girl’s father in his complaint.
She suffered serious head injuries and multiple fractures in the incident and has been hospitalised, he said.
SHO Aung Ramesh Patel said that the police have launched a hunt to nab the accused, who is a B.A. student.
“She was found lying unconscious on the adjacent plot of the house with serious injuries. She was rushed to the hospital by her family members and the locals,” the SHO added.
