UW to spend $55M on seismic upgrades for 25 URM buildings

The goal is not to change the look of the buildings, such as Hutchinson Hall shown here, but to make them safer during earthquakes.

The University of Washington plans to spend $55 million on seismic upgrades to 25 unreinforced masonry buildings on its Seattle campus, including one building that dates from 1894.
