MOORESVILLE -- A single-vehicle crash on the Brawley School Road bridge over I-77 temporarily closed the northbound interstate Thursday night.
A Honda Crosstour left the roadway and struck a guardrail on the bridge at around 6:23 p.m., sending debris over the railing and onto the interstate below at mile marker 35 north.
Iredell FireWire reported multiple vehicles were pulled over on the interstate after being hit by debris from above.
The driver, Eugene John Breheny, 50, of Mooresville, was transported to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Mooresville Police Department. Investigators believe a medical condition played a role in the crash, according to Maj. Ron Chilton.
