Naxal arrested from Chandauli

Anti-terrorist squad on Friday arrested a 23-year-old youth Krishna Murari Panika alias Mahadev from naxal affected Chandauli District. Member of Maoist Communist Centre Krishna was instrumental in blowing up power plant in Gaya, Jharkhand in September last year.

LUCKNOW: Anti-terrorist squad on Friday arrested a 23-year-old youth Krishna Murari Panika alias Mahadev from naxal affected Chandauli District. Member of Maoist Communist Centre Krishna was instrumental in blowing up power plant in Gaya, Jharkhand in September last year.
A native of Mirzapur district, Panika had studied till intermediate. Having faced a lot of crisis in initial years, Panika moved to Himachal Pradesh and started working in a factory as welder.
A co-worker from Jharkhand asked him to take revenge from people who made his condition miserable.
After Panika’s father Chotteylal died, some strongmen of his village usurped his property and threw his family out of their land. He joined training camps run by naxal groups in Jharkhand and Bihar and learned to use assault rifles and also picked up tact to plant land mines.
Inspector general ATS Asim Arun said that impressed by Panika’s talent, notorious naxal leaders Sanjit Da and Vivek took him under their wings.
Panika was given the task to extort money from road contractors, brick kiln owners and other businessmen operating in naxal belt to support their cause. Besides attacking power plant in Gaya, Panika was also responsible for attack on Aurangabad solar power plant and setting 14 vehicles afire. ATS sleuths nabbed Panika from Chandauli railway station on Friday morning.
